The Coastie Kids Fishing Comp is a fun, family-friendly event designed to bring the community together while raising funds for Whangaparaoa Kindergarten, a local not-for-profit dedicated to nurturing young minds. This exciting month-long competition encourages kids to explore the great outdoors and embrace a love of fishing, all while supporting a good cause.

Event Highlights:
🐟 Fishing Competition: A catch-and-release event where kids across Orewa and Whangaparaoa can compete for amazing prizes.
🏖️ Non-Fishing Activities: Includes a sandcastle competition, coloring contests, and funky fish creations to ensure fun for all!
🎉 Prizes Galore: With thanks to our generous sponsors, kids have the chance to win incredible prizes, including spot prizes, cash awards for creativity, and even a luxury three-night family getaway to Lake Rotoiti.

Key Dates:
📅 Give-It-A-Go Days:

• Saturday, 1st February, 2:45 PM – 4:45 PM at Stillwater Wharf
• Sunday, 16th February, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Stillwater Wharf
  These special days allow families new to fishing to get hands-on support from local experts. Gear and bait are provided (though bringing your own is encouraged).

📅 Main Competition: Runs throughout February 2025, culminating in the Coastie Kids Celebration Day.

📅 Coastie Kids Celebration Day: A grand finale on International Children’s Day with games, entertainment, food, and prize-giving for all categories.

Why We’re Fundraising:
Proceeds will go directly toward creating an inspiring and safe new outdoor space at Whangaparaoa Kindergarten, enhancing the learning environment for tamariki to thrive and grow.
